About Calvin

Calvin D. Lawrence is the visionary founder and CEO of the AI for Black Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to bridging the digital divide and empowering young minds through AI technology. With a profound belief in the potential of AI, Calvin has dedicated his career to advocating for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. He is passionate about the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. Inspired by his own experiences and recognizing the lack of representation and opportunities for Black youth in the tech field, Calvin founded the AI for Black Kids Foundation.

Professional Background

Calvin's journey in the technology sector spans almost two and a half decades. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in AI. His passion for combining technology and education drove him to earn executive leadership roles at various tech companies, where he gained valuable experience in AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. In addition to his corporate leadership experience, he has spearheaded and led several tech startup companies, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Achievements

Calvin’s dedication and innovation in the field of AI have earned him many national awards and accolades. He has been featured in prominent tech publications and recognized as a pioneer in designing ethical AI solutions for global clients. He’s been recognized by Black Enterprise Magazine, The LA Times, The New York Weekly, the New York Times, C-Span, CNN, and many other national media outlets for his groundbreaking work in AI. He’s a frequent keynote speaker with over 30 technology patents awarded to him.
